Australian citizens can apply for the Global Entry program direct through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP). Successful applicants must meet strict eligibility criteria and undergo Australian government background checks in addition to checks undertaken by US authorities.

The Global Entry program is being rolled out to Australians in a phased approach. Phase One is now closed, and processing applications has paused. USCBP will process applications when Phase Two commences, which is expected to occur before the end of this year.

For more information on the Australian background check please visit the Department of Home Affairs webpage on Global Entry for Australians [https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/global-entry-program].

While applications can only be made through USCBP, general enquiries can be directed to the Australian Department of Home Affairs at gep@homeaffairs.gov.au.
