Lisa Usback

Lisa Usback, Minister Counsellor (Management) and Consul-General for the Embassy of Australia, Washington DC

Ms Usback was appointed Minister Counsellor (Management) and Consul-General for the Australian Embassy in Washington DC in August 2019. She is the Senior Administrative Officer lead in the Americas Hub. Prior to her arrival in Washington, she was Assistant Secretary for Financial Management with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). She has held several DFAT positions in Finance and Property as well as postings to senior positions with the New Delhi and London Australian High Commissions.

Before joining DFAT, she was with the ANAO as Senior Finance Manager. She has worked in the private sector as a CPA, and was posted to Port Moresby in her early career.

Ms Usback holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree and was admitted as a Certified Practising Accountant with the Australian CPA professional body in 1995.

She is married, with a son and daughter, and two small dogs - Charlie and Brandy.
