Damien Dunn, Minister-Counsellor (Management) and Consul-General for the Embassy of Australia, Washington DC
Mr Dunn commenced as Minister-Counsellor (Management) and Consul-General for the Australian Embassy in Washington DC in June 2024. Mr Dunn’s most recent position in Australia was Director of the Consular Policy Section in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
He has previously served overseas in Port Moresby, Hong Kong, Kathmandu, Baghdad and Tokyo, as well as undertaken deployments as part of DFAT’s Crisis Response Team to Nepal and Vanuatu for which he was awarded the Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal.
Mr Dunn speaks French and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Commerce (Government and International Business) from the University of Sydney.
