Status Checks for Persons Who Made Online Visa Applications
The Department will always endeavour to finalise applications as quickly as possible, in accordance with Australian law and within the Processing Time Standards stated in the DIAC Client Service Charter.
If you applied for your visa online on the internet and you wish to check on the status of your application, you can check on the progress of your application in following two ways:
1. By using the Transaction Reference Number (TRN) that was assigned to you when you made your application.
This facility is available on the Check the progress of your online application page of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) website.
2. By contacting the relevant Onshore Processing Centre responsible for your application by email or fax.
a. For e676 Tourist Visa and Working Holiday Visa: Hobart Onshore Processing Centre.
b. For Assessment Level 1 Online Student Applications: Perth Offshore Students Processing Centre.
c. For Temporary Business Entry (long-stay) subclass 457 Online Applications: Australian Business Centres.
► If you have lodged your application online and have been requested to send your completed medical examinations to the Washington office for assessment, you may use your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) to check the progress of your application.
